Mosquito Trapping and Spraying

Are you noticing more mosquitos around your home? Contact Franklin County Public Health to make a request for service to report mosquito issues and request service from a field inspector. Call the Mosquito Hotline at 614-525-BITE (2483) or visit https://mosquito.myfcph.org/request-for-service/. You can sign up for spray notifications OR submit a Do Not spray request online at https://mosquito.myfcph.org/spray-notification-do-not-spray/

FCPH sets up traps around the county to survey for different species of mosquitoes and test for West Nile Virus. These traps can trigger spray events. Perry Township is part of the northwest surveillance quadrant. Their contractor, Vector Disease Control, will set up traps on weekends to identify large mosquito populations and mosquitos carrying West Nile Virus. FCPH performs spray events to help reduce the mosquito population based on the results of the traps or at the request of a community. For example, Perry Township requests mosquito sprays before the 4th of July parades.

FCPH's schedule, and mosquito control resources are available on their dedicated webpage: https://mosquito.myfcph.org/.  The FCPH spray map is available at https://bite-central-fca.hub.arcgis.com/pages/surveillance
