Worthington Hills Elementary hosts a Hawkeye Bike Bus every Wednesday to commute students to school. A bike bus, also known as a bike train or a cycle train, is a group of people who cycle together on a set route following a set timetable other than for sporting purposes. Two retired members of the Worthington Hills community have joined the Bike Bus as Bike Marshals to keep bikers inside and to the right of the double yellow lines.
We ask that community members driving on Clubview Blvd on Wednesday mornings exercise extra caution and be aware of the student bikers.
The Hawkeye Bike Bus runs around Worthington Hills from approximately 7:25 AM to 7:45 AM every Wednesday. The below times provide a good estimate on where the bike bus will be throughout the ride to school:
- 7:25 Leaving Worthington Hills Elementary to begin the Bike Bus
- 7:25 - 7:30 AM: On Clubview Blvd S.
- 7:30 AM: Turn left onto Clubview Blvd N
- 7:33 AM: At the intersection of Clubview Blvd N and Circle on the Green
- 7:30 to 7:42 AM: On Clubview Blvd N/Clubview Blvd onto the Candlewood Ln intersection
- 7:40 AM: Intersection of Clubview Blvd and Fairway Dr
- 7:42 AM: Turn right onto Candlewood Ln
- 7:43 AM: Turn left onto Candlewood Dr
- 7:45 AM: Arrive at school
