[ARCHIVED] 7/30/25 - Road Construction and Traffic Changes Near WH Elementary

Worthington Hills residents, we want to make you aware of upcoming concrete work scheduled to begin this Friday, August 1st, near Worthington Hills Elementary School. Decker Construction will be replacing the curbs and sidewalks in this area as part of the Township’s 2025 Road Improvement Project.

The construction team will focus on the area of Candlewood Dr around the school and aim to complete this section before the first day of school. Please note, however, that Candlewood Dr will remain an active construction zone even after classes resume. Extra caution will be needed during drop-off and pick-up times.

To help maintain safety and smooth traffic flow:

  • Candlewood Dr will be temporarily restricted to one-way eastbound traffic from Beechlake Dr to Clubview Blvd S during this phase of construction.
  • We ask that all families and staff use Beechlake Dr as a detour to access the school entrance during this early stage of the project.
  • Beechlake Dr will remain open to two-way traffic for now, though one-way restrictions may be introduced as construction progresses beyond the school area.
  • Our intent is to restore two-way access to the school as soon as this first phase of the work is completed.

In addition, the Safe Routes to School (SRTS) sidewalk project is scheduled to begin in September near Clubview Blvd S and Candlewood Drive. We will share more information about that project as the start date approaches.

Please refer to the below maps for updated traffic patterns, and plan accordingly. Your cooperation and understanding during this time are greatly appreciated. If you have any questions, please contact Road Superintendent Ian Warren: 614-889-8781 or iwarren@perrytwp.org
