Perry Township E-Broadcast - COVID-19 Community Update & Resources
The Perry Township Board of Trustees would like to take an opportunity to update our residents regarding the COVID-19 outbreak. We are in ongoing contact with the Franklin County Public Health Department regarding the preparation and response efforts locally and doing everything we can to keep each of our residents safe and healthy.
- Governor Mike DeWine announced that the Ohio Department of Health will issue an order that will mandate wearing of face coverings in public in all counties that are designated Red Level 3 Public Health Emergency Alert. The order goes into effect at 6 pm on Wednesday, July 8, 2020.
Currently, Ohio has seven counties that have a Red Level 3 Public Health Emergency Alert:
Butler,Cuyahoga,FRANKLIN,Hamilton,Huron,Montgomery,Trumbull
In these Red-Alert counties, DeWine said people will need to wear a mask when they are in any indoor location that is not a residence, and when they are outdoors and unable to consistently maintain a distance of six feet or more from individuals who are not members of their household. Additionally, face coverings are required for the following: when waiting for, riding, driving, or operating public transportation, a taxi, a private car service, or a ride-sharing vehicle. This order does not apply to children under the age of 10, or anyone who cannot safely wear a face covering, - To find a testing center closest to you, it can be located via this link:

The site recommends you call ahead to make sure the testing center is open and/or if they have the test readily available. If you need immediate help, call the Ohio Department of Health’s Coronavirus Hotline at (833) 427-5634.
- Please listen to Governor DeWine’s words from today: “With or without a test, the virus is here. It lives among us and we must be at war with it. And we are at war with a very dangerous and lethal enemy. But this virus cannot do its damage without us. It needs us to be its enablers. Every single one of us has within our own control the ability to decide how fast this virus spreads.” We encourage all of you to follow the restrictions put in place for all of our safety. Limit any gatherings outside the home, practice social distancing at all times, and work from home if you can.
- The Perry Township Trustees have passed a resolution to temporarily allow the use of RV’s in our township to allow Health Care Providers and Emergency Responders to use Recreational Vehicles to self-quarantine, self-isolate, and/or physically distance themselves in order to limit their possible transmission of COVID-19, provided certain conditions are met. We must be vigilant in protecting from the spread of COVID-19. We also must take care to speak accurately and appropriately. This is a quickly evolving situation; and, one that requires all of us to use good judgment and common sense.
