Police administration oversees the everyday activities of the Police Department's operation and organization. The Department is led by Chief Steve Cesaro. The police secretary assists in administration and communication with the public. 

The detective bureau manages criminal intelligence information, conducts employee background checks, processes crime scenes (fingerprints and photos) and collects evidence. The Perry Township K9 Unit consists of K9 Coyle and his handler Detective Charles Mills. Coyle is a dual purpose K9 which means he is trained in explosives/odor and as a patrol K9.

The patrol bureau consists of three shifts: first (6a-2p), second (2p-10p) and third (10p-6a). There are two additional shifts, day midwatch(8a-6p) and evening midwatch (6p-4a), that supplement staffing. Each shift is supervised by a sergeant.  The sergeants report to the patrol operations lieutenant who reports to the Chief of Police. Sergeants oversee the day-to-day operations of the department, as well as additional duties assigned based on their shift.
